This is a powerful, pulverizing, liquefying monster of a machine, encased to lower the noise level. It reminds me of those commercial blenders at juice/smoothie shops and cafes that make slushy caffeinated beverages. Smoothies are smooth, and pureed creamy soups look smooth like paint pouring out of a paint can.
Here are the settings and the time:
- Manual: You set the strength, like a typical blender with buttons increasing linearly.
- Batter: 23 seconds.
- Ice Crush: 35 seconds.
- Smoothie: 60 seconds.
- Ice Cream: 65 seconds.
- Whole Juice: 65 seconds.
- Soup: 180 seconds.
- Pulse: You hold it down.
(I don't know if this is only on my machine due to a defect or this is the norm, but my pulse setting can't be seen. There's only a space there, but the function is there, invisibly.)
The settings are appropriate, with each ramping up and slowing down. The sound is noticeably quieter than other blenders.
The blade is dull. I don't know how this thing blends so well with a blade like that. I also feel safe cleaning this near the blade. The touch interface is very responsive and easy to clean. The blender stops quickly.
It does take up a lot of space. It fits on my countertop with cabinets above, but there's not much vertical space beyond that. Even with the blender pulled out, I can't lift open the enclosure's door fully because the door swings upward and hits the cabinet at near-maximally opened. Unopened, it's 17 1/2" tall, but for complete clearance, you need 24" high by 13" deep.
The lid to cover the blender jar has to be closed tightly, requiring some hard pushing and slamming down.
There's a HUGE negative with this blender. This is an expensive item, and you expect it to meet all your blending needs, correct? Well, the one thing this blender fails at is making nut butters. It can make nut butters, but the process requires so much scraping down and stopping and restarting that it takes much too long. What you need for making nut butters is the Twister jar which requires you to manually turn the top to move things along while the blender whirls. The Twister jar is also smaller, so no big batches of nut butters. Since you'll be twisting the blender as it whirls, the enclosure cannot be closed to keep things quieter.
You can put the jar in the dishwasher, but I usually clean it manually. For when I want to place it in the dishwasher, I place it leaning about 30-degrees so the blender's spinning section won't sit in a pool of water. Since the blade is dull, it's not that difficult or scary to clean.
If you won't blend nut butters, this is a fantastic blender. If you'll mostly make nut butters, you're better off saving your money by getting blender without an enclosure, though its power won't be as strong as this one, which is tremendous. If you'll do both, buy the Twister jar, knowing the blender will be louder that usual for nut butters.
******* (Added to edit on 12/30/2017, from 4 stars to 3 stars.)
This still remains a liquefying monster of a machine. It's amazing for smoothies and soups. However, for chopping things or making ice cream, it requires stopping the blender often to scrape the contents of the jar back down. Blending onions for smallest onion pieces meant stopping the blender to scrape down. Same for making "ice cream" with frozen banana slices.
Without the help of liquid to slosh things down, things get stuck to the jar's sides while the blade spins around to blend nothing. Maybe there's a magic volume for items that won't be liquid for the contents to fall back down into the powerful blade because this acts like a centrifuge.
This remains great for liquefying things quietly for items that contain liquid. However, for extremely fine chopping or nut butters, you might as well as not pay for the soundproofing premium since you have to stop and open the blender to scrape down the sides. In other words, this is not the type of blender you can use like a food processor. I almost want to knock it down to 2 stars because it's a lot of money to pay for a niche blender, but lowered only to 3 stars because its liquefying power is amazing. The soups and smoothies pour out of the jar beautifully.”
Okay, now to the good stuff! The blender arrived well packaged with styrofoam in all of the right places protecting the base and enclosure during shipping. The pitcher, lid and spoonula were in a separate box and found to be in perfect condition.
Assembly was very easy and only required plugging the base into the electrical outlet then placing the pitcher/jar and lid on the base then swinging the enclosure shut.
The preprogrammed selections were easy to figure out and the manual describes the selection if a little help is needed. The selections are touch sensitive and does not require any pressure when selection programs. The manual power selection is a slide action and is very simple to use when wanting to choose your own power setting.
I placed ice cubes, spinach, blueberries, banana, yogurt and a splash of water in the blender and selected the smoothie setting. The ingredients were blended perfectly giving a nice creamy texture reminding me of what I get at a juice bar. I was surprised since the blade is blunt without a single sharp edge to be found. All of my past blenders had sharp blades which contributed to a few mishaps.
How loud is this blender? That is the question I had when looking at this blender. Out of curiosity, I placed my Ninja blender side by side with this Blendtec Stealth 795 to test the noise level using a decibel meter. I filled each pitcher with 2 cups of water and ran the programmed selection for smoothie.
The Ninja blender measured a peak noise level of 115 decibels while the Blendtec Stealth 795 measured a peak noise level of 84 decibels. Wow! This Blendtec is quiet, but how quiet? I looked up and found that the difference of 20 decibels is 4 times louder which makes the Ninja blender nearly 6 times louder than the Blendtec Stealth 795.
This is the first blender I have owned where the gear drive is all metal construction and fits tightly when the pitcher is placed on the base. The cleanup is easy and has a wash setting built into the preprogrammed selections. The other setting worth mentioning is the soup selection which heats up to a temperature that is hot to the touch, but not piping hot.
No negative items to share...not even price. I researched commercial blenders and top of the line personal blenders and found the Blendtec Stealth 795 to be in line with other blenders of this quality and quietness.
This is truly one quiet blender!”

Discount Finder: Coupon Codes And Special Offers
Amazon often offers 75% and better discounts, yet it directs people to other, higher profit margin products instead. There's a geeky way to manipulate Amazon's web links to display all heavily-reduced bargains. All you need to do is fiddle with Amazon web addresses to bring up lists of knock-down prices. The problem is these are a faff to make yourself. So I built the Amazon Hidden Discount Finder tool (below). It creates your own bespoke pages in seconds, where you choose the discount and department.
