Our family’s favourite! “ PORK KARE KARE ”…my mom and I had different specialty when it comes to cooking. My mom’s specialty is mechado and istupado. My specialty is Kare-Kare and my post the other day which is the chicken roll. This morning my mom went to the market and asked me to prepare kare-kare for our lunch. Of course it’s my specialty so I have to make it more special for my family. We all know that Sunday is a family day so we decided to prepare something different today. It’s my “ SPECIAL PORK KARE KARE ”…

 

Ingredients needed:

  • Pork
  • Pork broth
  • garlic
  • onions
  • atsuete
  • Bagoong
  • Puso ng Saging (Banana Heart)
  • Eggplant
  • String Beans
  • Peanut Butter
  • vetsin

Procedures:

  • In a casserole, boil pork in water for an hour or until cooked. Strain and keep the pork broth.
  • First you have to cook the Bagoong (salty small fish). Sauté garlic and onions then add the Bagoong.
  • After cooking Bagoong. Prepare the ingredients. Make sure to wash your vegetables before cooking.
  • in a medium pan or wok, saute garlic and onions, add atsuete
  • add a little bagoong
  • put the pork and let it for 5mins.
  • add the pork broth and banana heart. Let it boil and put next the eggplant and string beans.
  • cook the vegetables for a few minutes then put the peanut butter.
  • Add vetsin
  • do not overcook.
  • -serve hot with bagoong on the side.
